of America's Legendary Jeweler
Robert Procop
Renowned globally as one of the foremost experts in diamonds and gemstones, Robert Procop is as gracious as he is skilled. His superlative talents captivates us with awe and admiration.
From the ages of 10 to 15, the acclaimed jewelry designer Robert Procop honed his skills in fine micro precision tooling at his father's engineering plant, laying the groundwork for his illustrious career. By 16, he was already curating exceptional gems, having developed a deep interest in gemstones and diamonds while working at his brother-in-law's pawn shop. By 19, he was perfecting his craft in gemstone and diamond cutting under the tutelage of master cutters, and even trained in emerald cutting in Bogotá, Colombia. A pivotal element of Procop's technique is his mastery of using light to enhance the beauty of each stone, a skill he honed through collaboration with his father, an engineer at General Electric.

Throughout his distinguished career, jewelry designer Robert Procop has taken on roles ranging from wholesaler and designer to retailer and business executive. As a young adult, he opened and operated his own store, Diamonds on Rodeo, where he crafted exquisite pieces for an exclusive clientele. It was there he further honed his skills, eventually securing his first Presidential Commission under President Ronald Reagan. His impressive client list includes celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Brooke Shields, as well as royalty and international leaders.

During his tenure as the Crown Jeweler, he was entrusted with the significant task of overseeing the restoration of the Crown Jewels, which had endured years of neglect. Under his leadership, a dedicated team of expert jewelers and craftsmen spent several years meticulously evaluating, categorizing, cataloging, and repairing these historic pieces to restore them to their original splendor. Among his other prestigious royal commissions were the assessment of the Royal Crown of India, the creation of the Malaysian Crown Jewels, and the recreation of the iconic Marie Antoinette Necklace.
Through his extensive global travels, Robert Procop has cultivated strong relationships with artisans, cutters, and mining site holders, ensuring his exquisite, ethically sourced gems are of the highest quality. His unwavering commitment to rarity, quality, and discretion has earned him a reputation for handling some of the world's most magnificent gemstones, such as the Cleopatra Sapphire, the Heart of the Kingdom Ruby, and the 665 Carat Imperial Emerald.
Robert had the distinct honor of having one of his necklaces selected for permanent inclusion in the National Gem Collection at the Smithsonian Institution, where it sits alongside historic and rare jewels that have belonged to dignitaries and royalty from around the world. His most notable moment in the spotlight occurred over 15 years ago when he adorned 13 nominees and winners at the 2000 Academy Awards in Hollywood.
Robert's relentless passion for natural, brilliantly colored gemstones continues to play a pivotal role in his creation of timeless designs that not only embody beauty and value but also support his philanthropic initiatives. Sales from his collaborations with Brooke Shields benefit the Los Angeles-based nonprofit House of Ruth, which offers temporary and transitional housing for homeless women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. This organization provides free shelter and operates a domestic violence counseling center with a nationally accredited developmental daycare for infants and toddlers. Additionally, through The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, his joint efforts with Angelina Jolie contribute to building schools and dormitories that educate children in conflict zones.
Currently, Robert Procop is dedicated to his Los Angeles-based jewelry house, Robert Procop Exceptional Jewels, where he offers his exquisite designs through select luxury retailers and private clients. He has a talent for sourcing extraordinary gems, transforming them into breathtaking jewelry with a special focus on high-quality, precious stones like diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. The rarer and more flawless the gem, the better. Robert is one of two jewelry houses in the world to only work with untreated gemstones.
His clientele primarily includes collectors and those in search of limited-edition, statement pieces of exceptional quality. Known for their intricate and feminine designs, his jewelry draws inspiration from vintage Hollywood, Parisian culture, and the glamour of contemporary influential events.
