On November 16th, 2003 (my birthday), my boyfriend, Adam, had dinner plans for us. He picked me up around 6:00 and we were driving down broadway extension to Bricktown to eat. All of a sudden Adam pulled off on the side of broadway extension- right by the 63rd street exit and said that he thought something was wrong with one of his tires. Adam got out of the vehicle and when to the front passenger tire and began to inspect it. Adam then asked me to get out of the truck to come look at his tire- I kind of snapped at him and said "I'm not going to be able to tell what's wrong with your tire" but I got out of the car anyway. When I was standing there looking at the tire, Adam told me to look up.... I looked up and saw a HUGE billboard, illuminated with lights, with our picture on it and the words "Kristi will you Marry me?" I then looked at Adam who was on his knee at this point holding a beautiful ring in his hand!! I was so surprised and, of course, I said yes. He then took me to eat but blind folded me before we went into the restaurant. When I took of my blind fold inside the restaurant there sat our closest friends and family waiting to celebrate our engagement. We did interviews with the news the following day because the billboard proposal was such a huge hit! What an amazing proposal and amazing husband!
